The Juvenile Intervention Instructor's Course (JIIC) is designed to equip law enforcement officers with new skill sets which will allow them to effectively deal with today's challenging arena of youth intervention. Research has unveiled a huge need for intervention personnel to be highly trained in areas that most law enforcement agencies normally do not include in their training programs. These areas include: the philosophy of youth intervention, teaching skills, facilitation skills, the power of affirmations, motivational strategies, effective team teaching, risk management, situational awareness, the dynamic classroom, and documentation strategies.

This course is covered under POST Plan IV, which means POST will reimburse for subsistence and travel costs. All POST reimbursed training must have prior approval to attend. There is no tuition cost for this training.
