Henry Porter Jr.
Community Representative
Henry Porter is a community member and has served on the Board of Governors since its inception. Mr. Porter is retired from the City of Los Angeles, Department of Building and Safety, where he was employed as a Principal Building Inspector. He also served in the United States Marines for four years.
Mr. Porter attended Los Angeles Trade Technical College and majored in Carpentry and received an Associate in Science Degree and Certificates of Completion in Inspection Technology and Supervision and Management. He also holds a teaching credential in construction from the University of California - Los Angeles.
In addition, Henry is the President of the Southwest Community Association; Commissioner on Housing for the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission; Volunteer for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (Lennox Station); Member of the International Conference of Building Officials; Member of the Advisory Board for the Athens-Westmont Business Center; and Member of Oversight Committee for the Southwest Community College for the Expenditures of Proposition A Bond money.
