Bob Feliciano

Robert Feliciano is a Professor and Public Safety GIS/GPS Program Coordinator at Rio Hondo Community College District. He has been involved in law enforcement training for over thirty years, and is a veteran of three southern California agencies. His experience includes 20 years of service as a police officer for the City of Lynwood, supervisor and manager with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and as Chief of Police for the Housing Authority for the County of Los Angeles.Professor Feliciano is a recognized forensic expert in the areas of police management, policies and procedure training and third party victimization. As such, he has developed an interest in GIS as a mapping tool for critical incidents and has been conducting research and training in the area of school violence. Professor Feliciano has worked with the Crime Mapping Analysis Program as the West Cost Regional Training Center for CMAP. He has also obtained the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) certification for a number of GIS training programs including a crime analysis and mapping course that are offered at Rio Hondo’s Regional Law Enforcement Training Center.
Professor Feliciano works closely with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies on issues related to mapping for critical incidents He has also established private sector advisory council to introduce GIS and mapping as a vital public safety tool for private business. Professor Feliciano holds a Master’s degree from Pepperdine University, a BS from California State University, Los Angeles.
