Regional Community Policing Institute-California

Mission Statement

The Regional Community Policing Institute - California (RCPI-CA) is a partnership of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the Violence Prevention Coalition of Greater Los Angeles, and Rio Hondo Community College. It is located at the Sheriff's Training Academy in Whittier. The RCPI-CA is one of 26 Institutes in the country, and it is funded under a Cooperative Agreement, by the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, U.S. Department of Justice.

Our mission is to institutionalize Community Policing by providing related training and technical assistance to interested law enforcement agencies, local governments and communities within our designated region. The RCPI-CA serves all of California.

Additionally, all of the Regional Community Policing Institutes throughout the country are focusing on the subject of Ethics and Integrity in Community Policing, and the RCPI-CA is providing training in that area as well.

The RCPI-CA also provides training and technical assistance in all of our training subjects.
